My 8 month old is in the 5 percentile for weight. She nurses 3 times a day and eats a variety of solids(fruits, veggies and cereal) 3 times a day. My pediatrician did not act concerned about her growth. I participate in the federal WIC program and the nurse acted extremely concerned about her weight and continually urges me to supplement with formula. In your opinion, do you think this is necessary if my baby continues to gain weight on her current diet? Hello, Breastfeeding offers your baby the best health benefits available, so don't quit and give her formula. Cindy
